dc.description.abstract | El lanzamiento del Sputnik por la URSS en 1957, acrecentó la preocupación nacional por el mejoramiento de la Educación en Ciencias y Matemáticas en los Estados Unidos, así como en otros países occidentales. Para esta fecha ya se había constituido el Comité de Estudio de las Ciencias Físicas y estaba trabajando en el desarrollo de nuevos cursos de física. Rápidamente se organizaron otros grupos como el de Química, el proyecto Chemical Bond Approach, y el de Biología, el programa BSCS. La Fundación Nacional para las Ciencias (NSF) comenzó a destinar montos considerables para la financiación de programas de capacitación de maestros en servicio. | Spa |
