Abstract
Starting from the experience of working in musical education processes with children and young people in the New Culture musical school, an approach to various concepts is proposed herein, so that they may be used as mental tools able to help us to think over again the relationship between ethics, aesthetics and politics, in order to find new ethic path. For so doing, we start from the strategy of vectorization -proposed by the Colombian philosopher Edgar Garavito- which consists in taking various concepts -some of them ancient or arisen in distant temporary contexts- and then bring them to the present day in order to draw their affirmative strength, facing the needs and contingencies of our contemporary moment. With the help of Foucault and Deleuze, it will be necessary to think about the processes of subjectivation, and delve into the differences between ethics and morality, to revisit -along with Antonio Negri and Giorgio Agamben- the concept of bio-politics and crowd, in order to analyze the complex relationships existing between the individual and the collective. There, it will be possible to disclose the affirmative strength of children’s songs and, more generally, the various forms of art as a powerful force that affirms life and renders life meaningful. The proposed itinerary will try to answer some of the questions that propel us: How to give birth within us to a kind of subjectivity capable of affirming life? By what means may we avoid to be colonized by a single political and social structure? How could we open ourselves to multiplicity? Music, ethos and bio-politics.
