Abstract
This degree work had as its center the thought and knowledge about children's literature, the practices for its mediation, the criteria for its selection and how the literary experiences promoted from the Nidos program, Art in early childhood of the District Institute of Arts - are given. IDARTES-, through community artists and from the management of coordinators of this project. Thus, an approach was made to the participants of this degree work and to the experiences they carry out with early childhood in which the children's book is central, through interviews and observations. Thanks to the pedagogical practice that we carry out in our training process, in the aforementioned program, we managed to recognize art as the main axis of everything that is worked there and its link with children's literature.
This work was carried out in 4 phases. The first corresponded to the elaboration of the methodological route in which information collection instruments such as semi-structured interviews and observation formats were created. Later we went to phase 2 where the information was collected, interviews were conducted with community artists and the coordinator of the Nidos program, Art in early childhood; participatory observations of the artistic experiences developed in the children's library of the National Park were carried out, as well as a detailed observation of the infrastructure, setting and book collections of the aforementioned library. Phase 3, in which the analysis of all the information collected took place, was developed through the hermeneutic cycle and the information provided by the artists was put into discussion with the conceptual framework of our degree work. This resulted in the recognition of knowledge regarding literature, the criteria that they take into account when choosing quality children's books. It is worth mentioning that there were important points of discussion regarding the meaning of working with literature in early childhood, whether the child's age or reading competence prevails, and what the mediation of literary reading means. We were able to account for meeting points in relation to the importance of literature in childhood to allow the child reader an approach to the book in which they discover characters, stories, identify with the books and give their own interpretations of the meaning of the books. texts. This makes it possible to recognize yourself as a subject and relate to the world that surrounds you, it is spaces full of enjoyment, pleasure and aesthetics. Finally, in phase 4, a series of recommendations were made to the artists of the Nidos program, Art in early childhood, since we found a need to enhance knowledge about children's literature and the selection criteria for quality children's books. Although their profession as artists does not have a purely children's focus, we consider it necessary to strengthen them in terms of literature and childhood, this would help them to enrich their practice with children. Without wanting to say that their practice is not enriched, because they base their experience on the exploration of the medium, games and art, but we identify a felt need to work on literature and its practices, as one of the primary actions of the first childhood.
