Positron generation in an electrical storm : an approach to the Beta Decay Process (β+).eng
Atmospheric phenomena contain more surprising events than expected, among them, are electrical storms and their astonishing ability to produce large amounts of energy and even antimatter particles. This work addresses how the climatic conditions of an electrical storm lead to the formation of unstable atoms which through the process of beta decay β+, emit an antiparticle, the positron. First, the research problem is established, focusing on the approach to the beta decay process, followed by various historical events that contributed to the understanding and construction of radioactive decay theories. This is followed by an analysis of thunderstorm formation and other processes that result in the production of a radioisotope, where the analysis of this radioisotope, allows us to understand beta decay and the resulting energy emissions which can have significant health impacts. Finally this work concludes with a proposal for teaching about the decay of the Nitrogen-13 isotope.eng
