Abstract
The research project that is developed in this document analyzes the effect of a motivational scaffolding, arranged in a mobile application, on the learning achievement in mathematics specifically in problems with integers, the self-efficacy and the procrastination of seventh grade students with different cognitive style in the DIC dimension and corresponds to a master's thesis in Information Technology Applied to Education. The research is of a quasi-experimental type with four groups previously formed, it is carried out in the Departmental educational institution El Carmen de Guachetá, applied to 86 seventh grade students with a mobile application, through which the effect of a motivational scaffolding in a mobile application on learning achievement, self-efficacy and procrastination in students with different cognitive styles in the DIC dimension.
The analysis of the project is based on a MANCOVA 2x3 design in which there is a control group and an experimental group. The participants are provided with a tablet inside the classroom, and outside of it they are invited to install the application corresponding to their course on the cell phones they have at home, for two groups an application containing the motivational scaffolding is worked on, and for the two other groups the application that does not contain scaffolding, the four groups have five weeks to develop. the five thematic units proposed. This chapter shows in the first instance the design of the research and the study variables, then a description of the students participating in the research is made, then the measurement instruments used to determine the cognitive style, academic self-efficacy, self-efficacy are detailed. online and procrastination. Finally, the development of the research is presented in detail.
Statistical procedures were carried out in SPSS 25 software.
This research suggests how the incorporation of mobile applications with motivational scaffolding in the classroom can significantly influence student learning by improving their perceptions of both academic and online self-efficacy, reducing the gap between the existing differences in the cognitive style of each student, and reduce homework aversion as a procrastination factor mainly in field dependents.
The introduction of mobile applications with motivational scaffolding in the classroom can significantly influence self-efficacy, although compared to other research, it does not unquestionably improve learning achievement in this research.
