dc.title.translated | For defense : discussions on production of bodies in the APP Grindr. | eng |
dc.description.abstractenglish | The article aims to discuss productions of subjectivities perceived from the media use of an application Grindr in which fake profiles assume different types of objectification, as they are taken from cultural perspectives of poststructuralist trends. As a methodology, a profile was elaborated, in which a photo of the author was exposed and interpretation gestures were given to the subjects who did not present face pictures, but only of different parts of the body -- or other forms of objectivation of subjectivities that implied in the masking of themselves as subjects. Next, a distance up to fifty kilometers was set up and twenty users, in order of proximity, were interviewed and questioned to answer the following question: “What leads you to create a profile and not show your face?”. Our initial analyzes showed that these forms of social interaction entail in the defense of those who articulate them, while at the same time ensuring the postponement of eye-to-eye contact. It was also noted in this virtual environment that, in relation to sexual practices, beeing a bottom is taken as an excuse to the non-explicit exposure of these subjects. In this context, other justifications were placed in the field of possibilities of maculating or depreciating their own image, through the possibility of expressing desires without having to be directly responsible for consequences of other orders. | en-US |
