Abstract
This monographic work investigated some of the most important notions and methodology that underpin the epistemology of each of these two authors. Cartesian epistemology is characterized by being an intellectual movement of a subjectivist nature that seeks to rebuild knowledge in order to get to the truth by structuring a structuring a system of evident and undoubted propositions bases solely on reason. On its part, Peircean epistemology is identified by understanding the process of knowledge from a community and pragmatic perspective, whose claim is to understand the world through the correct implementation of the scientific method. The objective of this writing lies in and from the analysis of both epistemologies, to exalt and argue in favor of the Peircean proposal, over the Cartesian, placing it as the most optimal method when it comes to accounting for human knowledge.
