Abstract
The dynamics in which the reading and writing actions have been configured in rural contexts have had to do with the pedagogical sense that is attributed from the school, the home and the community to each of the language processes, such as reading and writing; in the village of Santa Teresa, the importance that the community attributes to the cultural traditions that affect the determinants for the territory is evident. From this, the school takes advantage of this through events and activities that can be students in an active and participating role, so it is through cultural practices that it is possible to transform the notions of reading and writing that have been built through traditional methods.
For this reason, the contributions of the community and its natural ways of being in the territory open up other possibilities of development and advancement in front of the academic notions of boys and girls. This immersive practice allows us to understand what forms the system has abandoned rural education and the restructuring that education requires. Without a doubt, teachers in these areas have been in charge of carrying out rural schools through commitment, accompaniment and dedication; the teacher has been present and constant in the rural school through strategies for a quality education, without neglecting the rural environment as a space endowed with cultural assets.
